New electronics area

Our new electronics work bench and shelving is now available for use! This new area provides 6 sq ft of additional table space, more shelving and we’ve got a few more cabinets on the way. Thank you to everyone that helped make this possible!

Build your own Light-Theremin with Moldover

This Friday (11/4) @ 7PM!

Moldover Workshop

In this basic soldering workshop, Moldover will take you through the steps to build your own Light-Theremin CD Case. Even if you’ve never soldered before, this workshop will give you the confidence in two hours. If you do have experience you’ll learn how to solder better, and walk away with a fun and unique instrument, plus a copy of Moldover’s album.

No experience required
No equipment required: soldering stations & Light Theremin kits provided
This is an all ages, hands-on workshop
Cost: $35 for kit/materials
Can’t afford a kit, but seriously dedicated to learning? Talk to us!
Space is limited, please come early

After the workshop Moldover will give a presentation on the design of The Light-Theremin CD Case, and his other circuit-board artworks.

Cryptoparty – Tor Edition!

The Tor Project is having some hack days in Seattle, and Cryptoparty
Ann Arbor will be holding a hack day in solidarity!

Sunday October 2nd Cryptoparty members will be meeting up to
collectively learn about, work on, and experiment with tor and
everything tor-related. The goal is to explore things at a deeper and
more involved level than usually happens at the monthly cryptoparties,
which mostly cover the basics. This event is open to the public, as always! We’ll start at
1pm and run until people decide to leave.

We hope you’ll join us on October 2nd at All Hands Active and be sure to bring your computer(s)!

Open House + Upcoming Classes

It’s time for the fall open house! Join us Saturday September 10th from 3-10pm at our new location 255 E. Liberty Street. We’ll have good food, great people, and lots of tool demonstrations!

Check out the event calendar for a listing of classes taking place between September 6th-9th. We’ll teach you all you need to know to get started using our Vinyl cutter, Laser Cutter, 3D printer, or the CNC machine.

Build Night resumes + Volunteer training!

Build night at the new All Hands Active location will resume this Thursday 6/30 @ 7pm!

If you are interested in volunteering to run a shift at All Hands Active, volunteer training will take place at 7:30pm on Thursday 6/30. We’ll be meeting to discuss roles, a new job board, and establish a volunteer schedule.
